Behind the veil of tears and sorrow, we try to grow a smile.....
Manav Seva Sahara Vikas Sanstha reaches out to many agonized souls including the physically & mentally handicapped, apart from institutions & people who are deprived of basic necessities and make it a point that they are provided with some of their requirements to some degree.
The organisation righteously utilizes donations in the service of the ailing, poor and those desperately in need. The first two words in the legend of this organisation have been epitomised by their humane service.
The architect of this philanthropic activity is Ashish Lobo who took the initiative to make that small difference to render aid to those in need in 1996. Initially, these activities were under the auspices of Sahayata Group.
Keeping in mind that it could only ‘make a small difference’, this group started with free drinking water kiosks around the city, including the Nagpur railway station’s platform nos.1 & 4. Then it launched a one-month certificate course on Basic Computer Skills for the underprivileged, followed by a floodlight Cricket Tournament, Inter-School dance competition for children, Inter-School Teachers’ Antakashri (on Teacher’s Day) etc
All in all, Sahayata Group tried to inject an element of fun and joy to those sections of society which are usually deprived of such sentiments. In the year 2002, the organization decided to formalize its position and registered itself with the Charity Commissioner & christened its new form with the legend ‘Manav Seva Sahara Vikas Sanstha’
Post 2002, the organization focussed on increasing the material component it distributes among the underprivileged. It began accepting donations in kind from well-intentioned persons and undertook collection of used clothes, woollens, wheelchairs, crutches, schoolbags, water-bottles, stationery items, shoes etc. which it would distribute among the needy, touching the lives of many.
As an NGO, it was a proud moment and a consequence of the blessings of those it had touched when the Commissioner of Income Tax awarded them a Sec 80G Certificate urging them to continue the good work it had undertaken.
